Detecting clusters in moderate-to-high dimensional data: subspace clustering, pattern-based clustering, and correlation clustering

چکیده
As a prolific research area in data mining, subspace clustering and related problems induced a vast amount of proposed solutions. However, many publications compare a new proposition – if at all – with one or two competitors or even with a so called “näıve” ad hoc solution but fail to clarify the exact problem definition. As a consequence, even if two solutions are thoroughly compared experimentally, it will often remain unclear whether both solutions tackle the same problem or, if they do, whether they agree in certain tacit assumptions and how such assumptions may influence the outcome of an algorithm. In this tutorial, we try to clarify (i) the different problem definitions related to subspace clustering in general, (ii) the specific difficulties encountered in this field of research, (iii) the varying assumptions, heuristics, and intuitions forming the basis of different approaches, and (iv) how several prominent solutions essentially tackle different problems.

High-Dimensional Unsupervised Active Learning Method
In this work, a hierarchical ensemble of projected clustering algorithm for high-dimensional data is proposed. The basic concept of the algorithm is based on the active learning method (ALM) which is a fuzzy learning scheme, inspired by some behavioral features of human brain functionality. High-dimensional unsupervised active learning method (HUALM) is a clustering algorithm which blurs the da...
متن کاملAn Optimization K-Modes Clustering Algorithm with Elephant Herding Optimization Algorithm for Crime Clustering
The detection and prevention of crime, in the past few decades, required several years of research and analysis. However, today, thanks to smart systems based on data mining techniques, it is possible to detect and prevent crime in a considerably less time. Classification and clustering-based smart techniques can classify and cluster the crime-related samples. The most important factor in the c...
متن کاملAssessment of the Performance of Clustering Algorithms in the Extraction of Similar Trajectories
In recent years, the tremendous and increasing growth of spatial trajectory data and the necessity of processing and extraction of useful information and meaningful patterns have led to the fact that many researchers have been attracted to the field of spatio-temporal trajectory clustering. The process and analysis of these trajectories have resulted in the extraction of useful information whic...
متن کاملHierarchical Subspace Clustering
It is well-known that traditional clustering methods considering all dimensions of the feature space usually fail in terms of efficiency and effectivity when applied to high-dimensional data. This poor behavior is based on the fact that clusters may not be found in the high-dimensional feature space, although clusters exist in subspaces of the feature space. To overcome these limitations of tra...
متن کاملCombination of difference subspace and Oppurtunistic Clustering on High dimensional Data
Clustering is recognized as sigificant technique for analysing data and concentric effort has been taken in different domains comprises of recognition of pattern, statistical analysis and data mining for decades. Subspace clustering is developed from the group of cluster objects from all subspaces of a dataset. During clustering of objects involing higher dimension, the accuracy and effectivene...
